Isabella Solis for State Representative District 37
New Mexico is more than just another state. It is our home that we love! We have all the ingredients for prosperity right here: incredible beauty, hard-working citizens, an abundance of natural resources, a bustling international border, great weather, an established agricultural industry, federal investment -- the list goes on and on.
But sadly, New Mexico is lagging far behind our potential. We are last or close to last in educational and economic stats every year. Our poverty rate is far too high, and our young people aren’t staying home because there aren’t enough career opportunities.
After a lifetime as a member of the Democratic Party, I recently made the decision to become a Republican. I did that because I came to understand that the policies supported by the radical element of the Democrat Party in New Mexico are responsible for holding our state back. Excessive taxation and burdensome red tape mean our small businesses face a constant battle to succeed. And our public education system continues to fail our kids because of an entrenched bureaucracy that goes unchallenged by our political leaders.
It’s time to change all that. But to do that, new leadership is required. I am running for New Mexico House to make New Mexico better for all of us: to create a more transparent and accountable government, improve our education system, stimulate economic growth, support our law enforcement, secure our borders, sanctity of life, and remember our most vulnerable: our children and senior citizens. I’m asking for your support in this election so we can revive the New Mexico we love and take full advantage of our incredible potential!
